Dance Club
New Organization:
This is a new organization
Semester:
Autumn 2009
Board:
Fine and Performing Arts
Intercollegiate:
Not intercollegiate
Description:
To come learn fun dance rountines!
Purpose:
My friends and I would like to start a dance club because it would be a fun way to exercise and it would be something to be involved with in the school. I know we have a cheerleading and dance team, however you have to try-out for that and audition. I try-out for the dance team and didnt make it. I love to dance and it was upsetting not to make it. After talking with my friends we decided a dance club would be great and would encourage the dancers who didnt make the team to still dance and have fun. The dance team is also a HUGE commitment and it takes up alot of your time. This dance club purpose would be to have anyone come and an exercise maybe 3 to 4 times a week for an hour. The dance club would be open to men and women and it will be filled with all sorts of dance, not just the generic dances. It would provide people with routines that can be performed by those who would want it and not by those people who don't want to perform them. The dance club would be open to all sorts of ideas and my goal is to have many different coreographers. I hope you consider allowing the dance club because I believe it would really add to the diversity of SUNY New Paltz. Thanks.
