Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS) New Paltz Chapter

Welcome to the pre-medical section of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), representing future underrepresented minority medical students. Associate Members of SNMA attend some of the strongest and most influential undergraduate institutions and constitute a large percentage of our membership body. Our members are active in all fronts; we are creating diversity and making large steps in all aspects of medicine and patient care. SNMA has a great interest in increasing the number of underrepresented minority physicians entering the workforce and know that our pre-medical students are our future colleagues and successors. Through our community service and our dedication to eliminating ethnic health disparities, we strive to provide ourselves and those around us with a larger sense of being. We stand strong in the light of the many that struggled before us, and we hope to make each step easier for those who come after us. We are the leaders of our communities and voices of reason and change. Known for our mentorship and pipeline outreach, we are dedicated to ensuring that the needs of pre-medical students are met. I am pleased to be your advocate on the National Board and will work diligently to ensure our organization is preparing you for your future in medicine. SNMA is founded upon the great principles of educating and preparing our members to be the best in the healthcare field and that mentality certainly extends to our pre-medical members. We hope that you use this website as a one-stop tool for information of about the SNMA, the medical school applications process and healthcare disparities in your community.
