Description:
Students working towards the well-being of animals.
Purpose:
Animal Rights Association (ARA) is an organization created and run by students who are concerned for the well-being of animals in our local community and beyond. By educating our campus and the New Paltz community alike, we plan to give a voice to the animals who cannot speak for themselves. We plan to educate and bring about change in the following areas: the fur and meat industries, animal by-product industry (cosmetics, foods, leather, including animal testing in laboratories), and domestic animal abuse and neglect. By petitioning and protesting against organizations and companies that participate in animal cruelty while holding fundraisers (such as pet supply collections, etc.) for local shelters, animal hospitals, and sanctuaries, the Animal Rights Association hopes to create a better world for all animals. Overall, we hope that our club raises awareness about animal cruelty while helping the New Paltz community adopt a healthy and cruelty-free lifestyle.
