Purpose:
The Purpose of the Caribbean Student Organization (CSO) is to promote and build a bond with native and non native West Indians on the SUNY New Paltz campus. To unite and construct friendship amongst students that will last throughout their college years. Through programs on and off campus such as the Binghamton Conference and Caribbean Pride week we intend on building student awareness and better understanding of Caribbean life. We will also incorporate educational programs and discussions with the student body. Also by providing t-shirts throughout the week, we promote this unity and solidarity on campus in hopes that it will spread to the other organizations and the campus. By stimulating their minds with life scenarios and experiences and introducing others to different ethnicities within the Caribbean through food, music, political issues, poverty, and crimes we promote diversity. With all these programs we would bring together our brothers and sisters by sharing One Love and One Heart because divided we are conquered.
