Future Teachers of America

Future Teachers of America is a club that meets once a week and participates in the community by organizing fun activities and other field experience events. It is designed to have experienced and knowledgeable speakers come to the club to facilitate fun and informative workshops. The students may also attend educational conferences as well as educational field trips to help build their resumes. This club serves the community and bridges the gap between children and teachers in the local area by performing specific events for the families of New Paltz. FTA is a great stress free way to get to know other Education majors, as well as professors, and advisers within the department. Students who participate in the club come out with a better understanding of their field and more experienced than others. Future Teachers strives to create a fun learning environment outside of the classroom while familiarizing students with established members of the teaching community.
