Description:
Geocaching is a worldwide treasure hunting game that uses gps navigation and online maps.
Purpose:
The purpose of bringing geocaching into New Paltz is so that students may further explore the campus and town. The intensitity of geocaching has a very wide range, so we can simply play the game on campus or we can take hiking trips all over new york as well. It is also a way of getting to know the students of New Paltz. Since each "cache" is simply a container that stores a log book and random items, we can leave notes and objects for one another along with contact information. Geocaching is a fun and exciting exploration game, it really brings groups together from various life styles. It also gives people the freedom to be creative when hiding, making, and finding the cache/containers. It is also a game that requires solving riddles and reading maps.
