Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a club where you can meet other students who love to volunteer and more importantly build hope one house at a time. Habitat for Humanity’s vision is of a world where housing poverty and homelessness have been eliminated, and everyone has a safe, decent place to live; a place that they can call ‘home’, because the home is a key catalyst in helping to permanently break the cycle of poverty. The dates we've been assigned to go as a club this Spring 11' Semester are 8AM-1PM: Saturday, February 12th Saturday, March 12th Saturday, April 9th and Saturday, May 7th. I'll be going almost every Saturday and welcome up to 3 others to join me. We'll be attending Habitat's Annual Spring Break Collegiate Challenge at Port Charlotte this year. Newburgh's 12th annual Walk for Housing will be held on Sunday April 3rd from 1pm-4pm. We'll be holding 3 fundraisers this semester; one at PNG'S Thursday April 7th, and 2 where we will table at Fat Bob's on dates to be decided. We'll also be doing a Midnight Run in Fall 2011 Also in the works is a Sleep Out on Main Street to raise awareness of substandard living conditions and homelessness.
