National Art Education Association
Purpose: 
The National Art Education Association (NAEA) is a professional organization for future, current and retired art teachers. The National Student Chapter was founded in 1947 and now serves the needs of Art Education majors in accredited colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada. The purpose of the SUNY New Paltz NAEA chapter is to promote art education to aspiring teachers in the art education program through professional development, service, advancement of knowledge, and leadership. To that end, the chapter will: promote quality training in visual arts education conducted by art teachers, professors, and students; to that end the chapter will encourage research in art education; hold club discussions and meetings; provide volunteer opportunities and professional experience, educational lectures, workshops, community outreach, field trips; and work with other related programs in support of art education.
