New Paltz Dance Team

Our team performs mostly jazz and lyrical pieces. We incorporate some ballet and hip hop. We focus a lot on technique. As a team we practice three days a week and have an additional ballet practice every other Sunday. When dance team first started we were mainly a kick-line team and over the years we have come to incorporate all types of dance into our choreography. We perform at other organizations events and programs through out the year. We also hold our own show at the end of the year and invite all other organizations to perform and be part of our show. Also, at our show we allow anyone on our team to have the opportunity to choreograph their own piece. During the fall and spring semesters we perform at the home men and women basketball games. We choreograph two or three dances for the basketball games. As a team every year we participate in Dance Underground which was previously known as Fresh Dance.
