Description: 
SHADES Step Team utilizes their hands and feet in order to formulate rhythym and beats to entertain.
Purpose: 
The purpose of SHADES Step Team is to be different than the norm. The team does not dance or do tricks. Rather, the team creates music using the human body. Stepping is a form of art and a safe escape from troubles. Therefore, SHADES Step Team participates in numerous volunteer events for empowerment of young women. We go out and perform and encourage students in need based communities, to apply to college. Lastly, SHADES Step Team has been around for more than 10 years and has contributed a great deal of service and entertainment to the New Paltz campus for events such as Niabinji, Dance Evolution, Dance Underground, etc.
