Purpose:
Jam Asia is a student-run organization that unites the Asian clubs on campus to educate the community about Asian aesthetics and cultures. This goal culminates in a week-long celebration during the Asian week of Rainbow Month (usually April), which includes a large talent/fashion show. The show encompasses dancing, singing, modeling, video skits, martial arts demonstrations, and other similar scenes. The performance occurs each year with the help and creativity of the members of Jam Asia, collaborating with the Asian Student Association (ASA), South Asian Cultural Association (SACA), and the Break Dance Association. Other clubs also participate occasionally. We are a pluralistic organization welcoming students of all denominations, without prejudice. There is a meeting held every week, to go over preparations for the show. Our weekly meetings are held every Tuesday at 10pm in SUB 401. Joining is as simple as coming to one of our friendly and welcoming meetings.
