Poetry Association

Our purpose is to provide writers and performers the opportunity to express themselves through the relatively modern art form of spoken word poetry. As the only consistently nationally ranked team on the New Paltz campus, we pride ourselves on being the face of the school. We are the defending New York State Champions, and are currently ranked 9th in the nation out of about 40 competing universities. We perform on and off campus and travel the country. We are the reason that people in New Mexico know how to pronounce the word "Paltz." Our mission is to unite and empower artists and to rekindle the love with poetry, by putting on many shows and bringing in the most credible names in the scene of slam poetry.
