The Society of Women Engineers is an organization that empowers women to succeed and advance in the field of engineering, and to be recognized for their life-changing contributions as engineers and leaders. SWE offers a variety of opportunities to network with professionals and other students, build resumes, learn proper etiquette, socialize and become part of the engineering community. With a variety of on and off-campus activities, New Paltz SWE has brought together both men and women to pursue one common goal: the advocacy and support of women in the science, technology, math and engineering fields. These activities include but are not limited to: New Paltz Solar Car Team, private tour of Orange County Choppers, Albany Nanotechnology, Dyson Racing, Mid-terms/Finals Snack & Study Session, Facilitating Professional Mentor Programs, Faculty-Student Mixer, Informal Internship discussion panel, leadership roles on the Solar Car Team, various guest speakers and seminars.
