The New York DREAM Act is narrowly targeted to give undocumented youth who have grown up and lived most of their lives in the country, and graduated high school in New York, the ability to ...meet their basic needs. These youth aspire to obtain higher education, contribute to their communities, sustain, and lead their families toward the American dream. For over 10 years, the federal government has failed to pass the federal DREAM Act and bring these youth fully into the fabric of our society. Today, these youth continue to be marginalized and excluded from society simply because the do not have a social security number. Therefore, the great state of New York must act NOW! The New York DREAM Act would provide these youth with: Equal access to State funded financial aid and scholarships
