About the Executive Board

The Executive Board, or E-board, is the executive body of the Student Association, established in Article VII of the Constitution

Membership

The Executive Board proper consists of five elected officers:

  • President
  • Executive Vice President
  • Vice President of Finance
  • Vice President of Programming
  • Vice President of Academic Affairs and Governance

Elections

Each member of the Executive Board is elected by the student body at large in the spring semester on or about April 30th.

Duties and Responsibilities

Constitutional responsibilities per Article VII:

  • Manage and supervise daily administrative operations of the Student Association.
  • Be responsible for the implementation of the decisions of the Senate and the Council of Organizations.
  • Have the power to veto decisions of the Senate by majority vote if the Executive Board believes the decision is not in the best interest of the student body. The Senate must be informed of the Executive Board’s veto by the next Senate meeting.
  • Serve as non-voting members of all Student Association houses and committees, except as noted elsewhere.
  • Manage and supervise the basic administration support system for Level One operations (such as office supplies, copying, outside communications - phone/mail).

Article VII of the Constitutional Bylaws adds the following responsibilities:

  • Meet prior to each Student Senate and Council of Organizations meeting.
  • Attend all Senate and Council of Organizations meetings.
  • Serve as the primary representative body to all outside bodies.
  • Nominate a person to fill a vacancy within the Executive Board subject to approval of the Senate.
  • Each member shall present an Executive Board report to the Senate and the Council of Organizations meetings.
  • Each member shall hold twelve (12) office hours per week on the fourth floor of the SUB.
